Texas A&M Eventing Takes on the USEA Intercollegiate Championships

Last weekend, I had the privilege of traveling to Lexington, VA to sponsor the Texas A&M University Eventing Team as they competed in the United States Eventing Association Intercollegiate Championships. As a previous eventer myself, it was such a thrill to see the team take on the rolling hills of the gorgeous cross-country course! (There was a tinge of jealousy as I watched them! ;)) Unfortunately due to some unforeseen circumstances on the journey to Virginia, I was a day late to the competition, and missed a few of the events. But, what I did see was a fantastic group of young women that not only strive for greatness in their sport, but support and empower one another. To see that in action was absolutely amazing.

In addition to being in the running for Intercollegiate Championship title, the team was battling to win the Spirit Award. This was given to the team with the most school spirit and of course, THEY WON! Each day before the competition began, they would host a Yell Practice and sing the Aggie War Hymn to get them pumped up and ready to go!

After some weary weather on the cross-country course and a change of arena for the stadium jumping round, the team took home a 5th place ribbon! Such an amazing accomplishment after an incredibly long journey to get to the Virginia! I seriously couldn’t be more proud to sponsor this team! Check out some of the action shots from the weekend below! Thanks and Gig ‘Em!
